Student Data Privacy – What’s All The Buzz About?
All areas, All levels
Have you begun to hear the buzz about Student Data Privacy? As teachers and districts send student data to vendors (ie Google, Powerschool, textbooks, and integration websites such as ABCya, Blooket, Learning A-Z, Padlet, and WeVideo) we need to insure those vendors are doing the right thing with that data. We do not want our students’ data getting into the wrong hands. But protecting student data is one of the toughest challenges and is often a forgotten step in the utilization of online resources that we use in our district. How does your district ensure the privacy of that student data? Does your district have a privacy plan? Is there a district process for approving websites that use student data? During this session I will share the “Why, What, How, Who” regarding what it takes to protect our students’ data.
