I will demonstrate from start to finish the process of implementing the Autocrat feature. This session will also provide time for attendees to work on creating a task for their own classroom.

The curriculum focus areas include Science, Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Workforce Education. For this project, the platform Thinglink was used to house digital content created by students in the teacher preparation program, who ultimately will benefit from these learning materials in their future student teaching placements and career.

At Liberty-Benton, a group of resourceful students turned their passion for content creation into a full-fledged streaming studio, all while operating on a tight budget. In this session, we’ll explore the creative strategies, innovative solutions, and collaborative efforts that enabled them to transform a group study room into a dynamic hub for streaming content. We broadcast live every morning at LBTV and students run the whole show. They write the script, run the streaming gear and anchor the show. Whether you’re an educator, a student leader, or simply passionate about multimedia production, this talk promises valuable insights and practical tips for maximizing impact with minimal resources.

Whisper and Shout: Using Technology to Promote Free Choice Independent Reading

This session will explore various ways that my 7th grade ELA Honors and Inclusion classrooms utilize technology to help build a culture of independent reading as part of my curriculum. The presentation will highlight how a blended learning approach can enhance traditional teaching methods from Kelly Gallagher, Penny Kittle, Lester Laminack, Kylene Beers, Robert Probst, and, of course, Donalyn Miller. Past projects that used Google Apps for Education (GAFE), Canva, Capcut, and/or StoryBoard That! will demonstrate for teachers and librarians how students can create authentic discussions about their favorite books beyond the ELA class period. In the process, students can begin to develop a lifelong love of reading without ever having to fill out a reading log.
